Mia nevydrží na místě. Má vůbec smysl jít na focení?
Mia can't sit still. Does a photoshoot even make sense?
Před prvním focením si Tereza nebyla jistá, jestli má s temperamentní Miou focení vůbec smysl. Dnes se ke mně s Miou vrací opakovaně.
Before our first photoshoot, Tereza wasn’t sure whether a session with energetic Mia would even make sense. Today, she and Mia come back to me again and again.
První obava byla jednoduchá.
The first concern was simple.
„Mia ale nevydrží sedět.“ Přesně s touhle obavou za mnou Terka přišla před naším prvním focením.
“But Mia just won't sit still.” That was exactly the concern Terka brought with her to our first photoshoot.
Jenže já při focení nepotřebuji, aby Mia deset minut držela stejnou pozici. Mnohem důležitější pro mě bylo poznat její tempo a zjistit, co jí vyhovuje.
But I didn't need Mia to hold the same position for ten minutes. What mattered much more to me was understanding her pace and finding what worked for her.
Pózování je jen jedna část focení. Ne jeho podmínka.
Posing is only one part of a photoshoot. It is not a requirement.
Mia potřebovala hlavně pohyb.
What Mia needed most was movement.
U aktivního psa nemá smysl bojovat s energií. Využiji ji. U Mii bylo od začátku jasné, že pohyb bude důležitou součástí focení.
With an active dog, there is no point fighting their energy. I use it instead. With Mia, it was clear from the start that movement would be an important part of the photoshoot.
Nechaly jsme Miu běhat, část energie se přirozeně uvolnila a mezi tím vznikaly výrazy a momenty, které by při nuceném sezení vůbec nevznikly. Právě její temperament se tak stal součástí fotografií, ne překážkou.
We let Mia run, some of that energy naturally faded, and in between we captured expressions and moments that would never have appeared if I had forced her to sit. Her temperament became part of the photographs rather than an obstacle.
Teprve potom má často smysl vrátit se ke klidnějším fotografiím.
Only then does it often make sense to return to quieter photographs.
Focení skládám podle psa, ne podle předem daného scénáře.
I build the photoshoot around the dog, not around a fixed script.
A pak přijde i klid.
And then comes the quiet.
To, že je Mia temperamentní, neznamenalo, že nemohl vzniknout i klidný portrét. Jen jsme k němu potřebovaly dojít trochu jinou cestou.
Mia's lively temperament did not mean we could not create a calm portrait too. We simply needed to take a slightly different route to get there.
Daly jsme si čas, změnily místo, prošly se a na chvíli přestaly řešit samotné focení. Právě tehdy přišel i klidnější moment pro portrét.
We took our time, changed location, went for a walk and simply stopped thinking about the camera for a moment. That was when a quieter moment for a portrait appeared too.
Stejně tak nikdy netlačím na to, aby byl pes kvůli fotografii puštěný na volno. Když je bezpečnější vodítko, nechám ho a tam, kde je to možné, ho při finální úpravě odstraním.
I also never insist that a dog should be off lead just for the sake of a photograph. If a lead is the safer choice, we keep it on and, wherever possible, I remove it during the final edit.
Bezpečnost a pohoda psa mají vždy přednost před fotografií.
The dog's safety and comfort always come before the photograph.
Když je energie opravdu hodně.
When there is a lot of energy.
U Terky a Mii jsme focení uzavřely společnými fotografiemi. Mia Terku zná, důvěřuje jí a právě vedle ní se dokáže zklidnit mnohem přirozeněji než při samostatném pózování.
With Terka and Mia, we finished with photographs of them together. Mia knows and trusts Terka, and beside her she can settle far more naturally than when posing on her own.
U Terky a Mii jsou pro mě právě tyhle chvíle stejně důležité jako běh nebo samostatný portrét. Najednou už nejde o to, jestli Mia sedí přesně tam, kde jsme si představovaly. Jde o jejich vztah.
With Terka and Mia, these moments matter to me just as much as movement or a classic portrait. Suddenly it is no longer about whether Mia is sitting exactly where we imagined. It is about their relationship.
A právě tyhle chvíle mám na focení nejraději — když na fotografii zůstane nejen krásný obraz, ale i něco z toho, jací spolu opravdu jste.
These are the moments I love most — when a photograph holds not only a beautiful image, but also something of who you truly are together.
Mia při focení někdy běhá, někdy nechce sedět a občas nás překvapí něčím úplně jiným, než jsme plánovaly. A právě to k ní patří. Terka se s ní vrací znovu a každé focení tak zachytí trochu jiný kousek jejich společného příběhu.
Sometimes Mia runs, sometimes she does not want to sit, and every now and then she surprises us with something completely different from what we planned. That is part of who she is. Terka keeps coming back with her, and each session captures a slightly different piece of their shared story.
